Saltwell Park Patrol – Volunteer Role with Northumbria Police

Volunteers are required to support Neighbourhood Policing within Saltwell Park.  Volunteers will provide assistance with problem solving initiatives.   The role would involve assisting police officers at crime prevention events and assisting at other events in the park.  The volunteers will work alongside community support officers within Saltwell Park providing intelligence to support patrolling officers.  The volunteers will also carry out functions similar to neighbourhood watch by reporting activities to police particularly around issues with ASB and damage to infrastructure within the park.

Volunteers will need to:

  • understand the issues effecting Saltwell Park in regard to community safety
  • work alongside Neighbourhood Policing Team to help them address these issues
  • attend events in the park and assist the Neighbourhood Policing Team to prevent community involvement in crime prevention
  • work alongside other voluntary groups within Saltwell park to promote community safety.

Full training will be provided for this volunteer role.
