The Felling Food Network is coming soon and is being set up to provide a weekly 3 day emergency food parcel distribution point for local people experiencing food poverty in Felling. The project will operate from the Felling Community Centre, beneath Crowhall Towers, on a Wednesday between 12 noon and 2pm.

What we can provide?

* 3 day food parcel, for either individuals or families;

* allows people to choose their own food for the parcel;

* no need for any referral;

* there is no time limit on need.

What we can do?

We provide quality food parcels one day each week on a Wednesday from 12 noon until 2pm and provide practical support for people who need a little help, we also aim to provide refreshments.

How can we help?

We desperately need food and toiletry donations to help meet the demand. We are also collecting pet food products.

Donations of tinned products are especially welcome. Thank you.

The group would welcome any volunteers to come along and get involved in the project.   Volunteers are needed for the following general tasks:

* source additional food;

* transport the food to our storage;

* distribute food parcels from the Felling Community Centre on a Wednesday.

Overall the group are looking for some initial volunteers to take forward the development and organisation of the group.  This is a great opportunity to get involved in a project from the initial creation and to be involved throughout its development.    If you are interested in supporting the organisation of the group and managing the project in particular please email Phil at volunteercoordinator.union@newcastle.ac.uk
