President of the Society, Christopher Winter, wishes all of our members a happy and restful Easter break.
I cannot believe that it is almost Easter. How quickly the time has flown by! We started 2021 strong with a pleathora of events and talks from guest speakers such as Jake Scott of the Mallard. We have also been pleased to have done so much collaboritive work with The Roger Scruton Centre and the Pinsker Centre. We were also very pleased to have welcomed back our society alumnus, Luigi Murton, for a talk about his career of getting into politics.
Unfortunatley, much like in 2020, we were not able to meet any of our new members. Lockdown blues have hit our society, and the university as a whole, very hard. It was a great shame that we couldnt all pop to the pub or do some in person socials this year. However, we are looking forward to being able to do more next academic year.
Their is not much else to report on that front. It has been a relatively quiet semester for all of us. However, be aware that local elections are starting soon so make sure that you register to vote.
On that note, I wish you all a pleasant and peaceful Easter Break. Make sure you do plenty of relaxing (and plenty of revision too!) and best of luck for all of your exams, dissertations, projects, and coursework which will soon be looming over us all in Semester 3.
