Wow, what a week it has been... Last week we held the annual Community Impact Awards which focus on the impact our students make in their local community and the North East.

The voluntary work you have been involved in is remarkable, we don’t understand how you have the time to achieve so much alongside your studies. BUT if you're still looking to volunteer then keep on reading, opportunities haven't slowed down here in GV.

Get involved this May with all of these amazing opportunities. 


New Prospects Association

We need volunteers to work with young people with autism to reduce social isolation, build on gifts and talents, try new experiences and guide them through some of the “tricky” bits of being a teen.


More Amazon Vouchers are up for grabs!!

Fancy taking part in research about why you have or haven’t yet volunteered and the role of digital technology in volunteering? We’re looking for people to take part in interviews or group discussions and you can bag yourself an Amazon voucher for taking part.


WALK IT Newcastle - Crohn's and Colitis UK

Crohn's and Colitis UK are having a big fundraiser at Leazes Park on the 29th June and they need your help to make it happen!


Teenage Cancer Trust

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK.  They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ We’re the only charity dedicated to making this happen.


Community Impact Awards 2019

On Tuesday 14th May we held the annual Community Impact Awards celebrating the great achievements and hard work of our students. Find out about the runners-up and winners here.


Grow Volunteer

The NUSU Grow Volunteer group meet every Tuesday and Wednesday at Joseph Cowen Halls gate. Each week you will be taking part in new activities focused on growing fruits and vegetables. You could be designing, planting, cutting, picking and watering - the list goes on and on.

It’s taken a long 8 months to build the green house but it is finally complete! To win £20 Amazon voucher we want you to guess how many pop bottles it has taken to build the green house.


FAR Centre - Play and Youth Volunteers Needed

We are a friendly community centre providing activities for children, young people, adults and older people we operate a purpose built community centre in the heart of our neighbourhood and we offer a range of leisure and learning activities.
