The end of the academic year is in reaching distance, the sun is shining and the nights are certainly longer. We can imagine you're doing some procrastination making your summer plans, so why not add some summer volunteering in the mix. Go volunteer isn’t slowing down, in fact we are heating up with so many new and exciting opportunities. Keep reading to out what's HOT this week!


Stu Bru 2019/20 - Creative Designer Needed

We are Europe's first student-run microbrewery and situated on campus, we focus on providing a sustainable method towards small scale brewing are are looking for someone to join our committee and to lead on the creative design of Stu Brew.


Crohn's & Colitis UK - WALK IT Newcastle

Crohn's and Colitis UK are having a big fundraiser at Leazes Park on the 29th June and they need your help to make it happen! Anyone is welcome to help out though ideally we would need you to commit to doing 6 hours from 9am- 6pm.


Ouseburn Farm Fundraising Event

Ouseburn Farm Charity are holding a bag pack at Byker Asda on Saturday 8th June between 10am and 3pm.  The event is to raise much needed funds for the charity, the only urban farm in Newcastle where entry is free.


Oasis Community Housing - Basis Volunteer

We are a national charity addressing both the immediate needs and root causes of homelessness through four cornerstones of support: Home, Support, Aspiration and Empowerment. This may be interesting to future social workers.

Schools Out For Summer

Stu Brew have set their date for the final Brewery Bash this academic year. Pop the 7th of June in your diaries and head over to Merz Court car park for their final celebration. Rumour has it they now have their own gin...... 


Take a well-deserved break from studying

This Wednesday we will be sewing more Wiggly Bags for children undergoing cancer treatment in the RVI hospital. Take a 15 minute break from your studies, pop to NUSU reception and come and help.


Wednesday Grow Volunteer session

Now the weather is looking up make the most of the sunshine and come to our weekly Grow Volunteer gardening sessions. We meet at Joseph Cowen Halls for 1pm to take part in planting, watering, building and much more.
