2017 – 2018 Sport Assistants x 2

Part time, up to 5 hours per week, term time only for the academic year 2017-18. The roles require flexible working including evening and weekend work.

Part-time posts: up to 5 hours per week, 12 weeks of term in Term 1,

7 weeks of Term 2 and 3 weeks of Term 3

Hourly Pay rate will be at £7.05 per hour – rate: AO.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified person to be appointed to a position within Newcastle University Students’ Union. 

The person in this post (along with one other part-time staff members) is responsible for delivering the Students’ Union’s Campus Sport programme, Campus Leagues (formerly named Hall Sport).

Based out of the Activities Centre, the post will provide support to the Inclusive Sport Coordinator. This will involve delivering sports, promotion and marketing, engaging and recruiting students, and some administrative duties. 

The holders of these roles will be required to attend a number of sport sessions or events each week within the programme, and as such, the hours will be split over a number of days in short shifts, attending events and delivering promotion on and around campus. As such, candidates will need to be flexible with the hours they can work.

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, organisation, and communication skills, be very friendly and approachable, and actively seek engagement with other students. Experience of organising sport and events is desirable and the successful candidate must be able to work on their own initiative.
