PICNIC is a unique opportunity for University students at one UK university to visit another UK university for a short visit of between 1-7 days. The purpose of the visit is to exchange ideas about good practices on enhancing student engagement/representation/partnership while observing, meeting with staff and students and attending events. An initiative developed by students for students, PICNIC is a scheme which aims to benefit both the partner institutions and the partaking students. The visit can also allow students to explore their own personal interest areas whilst feeding back useful practice to their sending institution. The sending university usually covers the costs of accommodation and travel and the receiving university makes arrangements in consultation with the visiting student to create an exciting agenda.
This year we have sent several Newcastle University students on successful exchanges across the country. These include:
And we are updating with reports as we receive them so you can see how they got on!
We look forward to seeing the scheme progress even further and encourage students of all discipline, stage of degree and interest areas to get involved. Please feel free to get in touch with PICNIC student contact, Emily Kirk, (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions or for further information.
