Give It A Go these Spring holidays!

The second term may be coming to an end, but we have a full programme of exciting activities for you to get involved in during the Spring holidays! From live exercise classes, to baking tutorials you can do in your own time, scavenger hunts with friends, and live virtual events – there are loads of great things happening with Give It A Go!

Book your place at these great activities on our website https://www.nusu.co.uk/getinvolved/giveitago/ and check out our social media pages for even more at https://www.facebook.com/NUSUgiag and Instagram @nusugiveitago

6th April – Stuffed Cookies Baking Tutorial:

We’ll be making white chocolate orange stuffed cookies (but of course feel free to adapt to any fillings of your choice!). Follow our easy step by step tutorial and find the full list of ingredients on the website!

8th April – DIY Whiteboard Crafting:

Join Activity Assistant, Izzy, who will be showing us how to make our very own whiteboards, perfect to write your daily to-do lists on or create a mind map for that next essay! Everything that you’ll need for the craft session is listed on the website!

10th April – Escape Rooms with PGR Community Society:

We’re teaming up with the PGR Community Society for this great activity! Shakespeare is set to open his newest play at the Globe this evening, but his one script has gone missing. You’ll have 1 hour to work with your team to find the script! Make sure you sign up by 25th March to reserve your place!

12th April – Quayside Social Walk:

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is already on campus to meet up with other students and head for a social walk along the beautiful Quayside. We’ll be heading past a café if anyone wants to grab a take-away drink, and we’ll take in the sights of the Quayside – one of the prettiest places in Newcastle!

16th April – Quayside and Ouseburn Scavenger Hunt:

If you fancy a walk around the city and seeing some new sights - this is the one for you! We’ll be challenging you to take pictures at all the landmarks or items on our list – it’s a great way to change up your usual daily walk!

21st April – An Introduction to Make-up with MUBYLEIGH:

We’re joined by professional hair and make-up artist MUBYLEIGH for this virtual class! MUBYLEIGH provides award-winning hair and make-up services and has even been featured in magazine shoots too. She’ll be providing us an introduction to make-up, giving us some top tips, and answering all the questions we have as we go along!

22nd April – Ouseburn Social Walk:

We have another opportunity to meet up and see the sights of Newcastle for anyone already on campus! This time we’ll be heading to Ouseburn – a really cool part of Newcastle with plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars and even an urban farm! There will be chance to pick up a drink at a café along the way too!

29th April – Origins of the Universe with Kielder Observatory:

We’re joined by the brilliant Astronomers from Kielder Observatory for a live virtual experience about the universe! We’ll hear about some of the mysteries our universe has to offer, our current perceptions and important discoveries that have been made over the years!

30th April – Turkish Language Course:

We’re teaming up with the Turkish Society for a new series to learn the Turkish language! This session will focus on the alphabet, greetings, and family. It’s a really informal session, with plenty of time to meet other people who share a common interest in learning more about Turkish culture.
