Brief Description of Society Activities
Our aim is to provide a fun-loving and comfortable social space for students to relax and meet other members creating memories with new and interesting people, whilst engaging in fun social activities and Hindu and Sikh festive celebrations. We want to bring Hindu and Sikh students together as well as everyone who enjoy the culture; everyone from all backgrounds are always welcome here! Many events for our members are organised throughout the year, beginning with our Meet and Greet, giving you the chance to mingle with the rest of our members and get to know your committee, followed by many more events!
* Innovative cultural events (Dandiya/Garba and Holi) - we will hold events to celebrate some traditional Indian festivals.
* Movie nights - members can kick back and relax while watching some of their favourite Bollywood movies
* Dance workshops - members can get a chance to learn some Garba and Bhangra
* Fundraise for important causes - as a society we would like to raise awareness of current issues occurring in India such as the recent Kerala floods
* Hold social gatherings - a chance for society members to get to know each other over a traditional Indian chai and snacks!
* Regular temple and gurdwara visits - dates and times will be mentioned in the facebook group
