How am I able to start my own Campaign?
NUSU wants all students at Newcastle University to have the opportunity to campaign on the issues that matter to you.
If you have a great passion to start a campaign, feel free to contact us with any questions you may have - please keep reading however, as we might have your question answered below.
We also understand that finance can be a barrier to putting your idea into action, and we wholeheartedly believe that this is not fair.
That’s why we have funding set aside for student campaigns that are not supported by a Society, Sports Club or Go Volunteer project. All you need to do is apply for the Campaigns Fund and, if your proposal is successful, NUSU will allocate you a maximum of £300 to get your campaign up and running while also providing you with lots of help and support.
Apply for the Campaigns Fund:
To apply, you just need to complete the Campaigns Fund application form. Your application will be considered the following questions:
- Is there a clear aim and set of objectives?
- Is there sufficient evidence for the need to run the campaign?
- Are the campaign’s activities safe and legal?
- Are there clear budget requirements?
Once you have submitted your application it will be considered at the next meeting of the Campaigns Committee. We will aim to get back in touch with you within two weeks of your submission to inform you as to whether your application has been successful. If your application is successful, you will be invited to NUSU for an initial campaign meeting.

From purchasing marketing materials, paying for branding or promotional printing, to helping set up launch and brand awareness days, the fund has helped support really important causes.
