Friends Action North East - Digital Volunteer

FANE was established in 2004 and the main purpose is to help adults with learning disabilities to make and keep friends. FANE champions friendship, raising expectations and creating opportunities to do ordinary things. Supporting all aspects of IT from data input, social media to campaigning for digital inclusion for people with learning disabilities and/or Autism. The role involves taking photographs, marketing via designing posters, uploading images of recent events on social media sites etc. Volunteers must ask permission from friendship finder before taking their photographs and uploading them on any social media sites. Also when uploading content(s) for FANE organisation you must input content in accessible language. As a volunteer you must remain professional.


Knowledge of Marketing and Fundraising would be beneficial but not essential.

Suitable For

Anyone wishing to gain experience working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.

Hours per week



A compulsory 70 hours is required for the CDM placement for the year, across October - April (terms one and two) Times are flexible within office hours Monday –Fridays 9:30-4:30
