YHA has youth hostels in amazing rural and urban locations across England and Wales. We create opportunities for travel and real adventure for all young people – and we strive to reach young people coping with poverty, disability, bereavement, long-term illness and other challenges who may otherwise miss out. We have residential and non-residential opportunities available at over 60 well-loved hostels - perfect if you would like to gain hospitality experience, volunteer as part of your course of study or simply get away from home and lend a hand. Volunteers assist the team of staff with tasks including serving meals, housekeeping and reception. Our friendly teams will give you a warm welcome and support you throughout your volunteering. You don't need any experience - just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved! Residential placements are for 2-8 weeks. In your free time you can visit local attractions or countryside. Accommodation is provided and travel expenses up to £105. You need to be aged 18 or over to apply for residential volunteering. Non-residential work experience can be for any period. Travel is reimbursed at £15 per day of travel. Minimum age 14 years old.
