Basis@Gateshead is Oasis Community Housing’s drop in centre giving practical help and advice to people in housing crisis or rough sleeping. We are looking for volunteers to act as befrienders - welcoming those who come through our doors, chatting to them and helping them with practical tasks such as their laundry. At Basis@Gateshead, we welcome those who come through our doors with a cuppa, a bite to eat, and the offer of a hot shower and a place to wash their clothes. Most importantly we source emergency accommodation for people and get them plugged in to other local services that can help them on their journey to stability.
