Parks and Countryside Services logo

The Newcastle City Council Parks and Countryside Service are responsible for the upkeep of parks in the city. These are some of the most beautiful areas in Newcastle which are enjoyed by thousands of people everyday but this wouldnt be possible without the work of the park rangers and their team of committed volunteers. With more cut backs in the local authority the need for volunteers to lend support is higher than it has ever been.

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

The Newcastle City Council Parks and Countryside Service are responsible for the upkeep of parks in the city. These are some of the most beautiful areas in Newcastle which are enjoyed by thousands of people everyday but this wouldn't be possible without the work of the park rangers and their team of committed volunteers. With more cut backs in the local authority the need for volunteers to lend support is higher than it has ever been. We have a particularly close relationship with the rangers at Leazes Park (a stones throw from campus), who have two brilliant groups of volunteers who help out with a variety of conservation tasks on a Monday (all day) and a Thursday (am). They are always looking for new volunteers and make everyone feel very welcome.
