Induction Sessions

If you are a newly elected Course Rep, Student Chair or Secretary, EDI Rep, or Environment and Sustainability Rep (E&S Rep), you can complete your induction training via Canvas. If you have not been registered on the relevant Canvas course for your Rep role, please let us know.

If you have completed your Canvas training and have questions about your role, you can sign up for one of our virtual Q&A sessions. These are designed to give you the opportunity to ask questions of NUSU staff and share your ideas and approaches to representation with other Reps from across the University.

Information for University Staff

Academic Student Representation ensures that the student's voice is heard at every level of University decision-making. It is also a key process by which the University engages with its students. To support those University staff members involved in supporting student representation, we have created a resource page that details how the system works and highlights how we can provide support.

Additional Skills

Throughout the academic year, we will be hosting a number of training sessions and events for all of our Reps. Our 90 minute, online sessions are designed to help you enhance your skills as a Rep. Each session focuses on a key aspect of student representation and includes group activities and opportunities for discussion.

Some of the sessions we have planned for 2020/21 include 'making change',  public speaking,  & marketing your Rep experience. All sessions are open to all our Rep positions to get involved with.
